EcoPar Marin is an environmental fuel for marine diesel engines. As it is non-toxic, it is harmless to aquatic organisms, including fish, roe, tadpoles, mussels, crustaceans and algae. Storage stable for at least 10 years. EcoPar Marin offers better combustion performance than diesel oil, creating a minimum amount of soot on the transom.
EcoPar is an ultra-clean fuel for diesel engines, developed and patented by EcoPar AB. Compared with diesel oil, emissions of many carcinogenic substances are reduced by more than 90%. Furthermore, levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the surrounding environment are reduced by up to 60%.
EcoPar Marin is particularly useful in marine environments. If there are any spillages, EcoPar Marin will not poison the water, and because it is odourless, you will not be able to smell any spillages on the boat.
EcoPar Marin is much cleaner than diesel oil, resulting in a minimum amount of soot on the transom.
For users who are allowed to use green-dyed marine diesel oil, or ‘MGO’ (marine gas oil), EcoPar Marin offers better combustion performance, creating considerably less soot and particulates in the exhaust emissions than MGO.
EcoPar Marin does not bind any moisture, which minimises any risk of growth in the tanks when used.
EcoPar Marin is non-toxic. This is particularly beneficial as EcoPar Marin will not poison any aquatic organisms, such as fish, roe, tadpoles, mussels, crustaceans, and algae if there are any leaks or spillages. EcoPar Marin is also biodegradable. Furthermore, it reduces the amount of soot and significantly reduces the total toxicity of the exhaust emissions.
EcoPar Marin does not contain any sulphur, unlike marine diesel oil (MGO), which may contain up to 1,000 ppm when it is used in ships in northern
Europe. Net carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are reduced by up to 50% calculated throughout their lifecycle in accordance with the ISO14040-14044 standards.
Common health problems caused by diesel exhaust emissions include headaches, nausea, and irritation of the eyes, nose and throat. Users who have previously experienced health problems from diesel exhaust emissions find that these problems are considerably reduced or disappear completely when using EcoPar Marin.
EcoPar Marin is not classified as dangerous goods in accordance with the international IMDG provisions due to its low risks to the environment and health.
EcoPar Marin comply with the European standard for diesel oil EN 590 and the US standard for diesel oil ASTM D975, and complies with the technical standard for marine diesel fuels 150 DMA and ISO 8217, so it can be used for all kinds of diesel engines.
With EcoPar Marin, engine performance is slightly higher than diesel oil. EcoPar Marin typically reduces fuel consumption by 5% to 10%.
EcoPar Marin has been on the market since 2003 and is used in thousands of engines every day. EcoPar Marin can withstand temperatures as low as -42°C, and has better viscosity and lubricating properties than diesel oil in all operating conditions.
